His latest exhibition is by Emily Valentine, whose “dogs” sculptures he has previously featured. Valentine collected feathers from dead birds (“no cruelty is involved,” Hugonnet assures us) and superimposed them over objects found in op shops to create new works that resemble a cross between a bird and an aeroplane.
Pieces by Sian Watson… to be mentored by sculptor Geoff Farquhar Still.TUGGERANONG Arts Centre is partnering with property developer Crafted Inc. to support the development of a young Canberra artist and the creation of more outdoor art in Tuggeranong. Intriguingly, the centre tells us the mentorship is “valued at tens of thousands of dollars”. Under the new deal, ANU School of Art honours graduate Sian Watson will be mentored by professional sculptor Geoff Farquhar Still, of Artillion workshop, to plan, develop and install an artwork at The Brindabella Residences.

Local DJ and music producer Ashley Feraude… new album.LOCAL DJ and music producer Ashley Feraude tells us that, as “Magnifik”, he has released his second full-length, 15-track album “The Gentleman of Disco” via iTunes, Beatport and Spotify. The album comprises original works ranging from nu-disco, soul and hip hop through to synth pop and classic house. Best of all, it’s a celebration of Canberra talent, featuring vocalists Andrea Kirwin, Xavier Dunn, Neon Honey, Kayo Marbilus, Liam Budge and Monica Styles.
