Assembly committee recommends doing very little about youth suicide and self-harm

THE LEGISLATIVE Assembly’s Standing Committee on Health, Ageing, Community and Social Services has released a report from its long running inquiry into youth suicide and self harm in the ACT.

Considering the gravity of youth suicide it was a little surprising to see the recommendations amounted to so very little:

Bear these in mind when you consider this from the Assembly’s referral to the committee:

a third of young people aged 15-25 who died in the ACT in 2013 died as a result of suicide
