Blackspot funding for Belconnen intersections

Vicki Dunne

VICKI Dunne has welcomed the announcement of $1.146 million in Black Spot funding to improve intersections in Belconnen.

“The investment from the Commonwealth Government will help to make intersections in my electorate of Ginninderra safer for all Canberrans,” Mrs Dunne said.

“$810,000 will be spent on the intersection of Southern Cross Drive and Kingsford Smith Drive in Higgins. This is an area where I’ve received complaints about safety, so this investment is very welcome.

“The Commonwealth is also investing in improving the intersection of Belconnen Way and Benjamin Way at a cost of $336,000.

“These projects follow the recently completed improvement to the intersection of Ginninderra Drive and Caswell Drive. Collectively these investments greatly improve road safety in Belconnen,” Mrs Dunne concluded.
