Canberra Liberals vision… parking for the Fadden Scout Hall

Andrew Wall

ANDREW Wall and Jeremy Hanson have committed the Canberra Liberals to spending $300,000 to upgrade parking facilities around Tuggeranong’s Mpowerdome.

“This commitment will ensure that users of the community precinct, which includes Fadden Pines and the Fadden Scout Hall, have access to suitable parking on an ongoing basis. This investment is conditional on the re-opening of the Mpowerdome facility prior to construction,” Andrew said.

“The Barr government has failed to invest in any additional parking in this precinct, despite identifying the need for this infrastructure. Mpowerdome management have also been trying for many years to negotiate with the ACT government for support to upgrade parking to increase the viability of the business.

“The ACT government has recognised in their own reports that Mpowerdome particularly, plays a vital role in the pursuit of health and fitness and is a leading service provider in this field with capacity to develop with the right infrastructure in place,” Mr Wall concluded.

“The Canberra Liberals believe in providing accessible facilities for all Canberrans so they can better access health, fitness and recreation services, which is why we’re making this commitment,” Jeremy said.

“The ongoing viability of so many Canberra sporting organisations hinges on the investment into infrastructure at this location. The Canberra Liberals are committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing needs of the Canberra community are being met,” Mr Hanson concluded.
