Canberra’s young talent on parade

LIVEWIRE CANBERRA theatre producer and playwright Kirsty Budding is at it again, with the Canberra Youth Talent Show about to showcase 50 talented young stars performing in 28 separate acts.

With heats starting next week for dancers, entertainers, singers and musicians, it is aimed at giving audiences an unparalleled insight into the diverse talents of Canberra youth. In each heat and in the final, the audience and judges will vote for their favourite acts.

Judges in the different areas will be dancer-choreographers Jamie Winbank and Jordan Kelly, singers Elisha Holley and Rachael Thoms, theatre directors Anne Somes and Richard Block, and musicians Steven Bailey, Vince Tee and Kirrah Amosa.

Among the first up on Monday are dancers from Erindale College Talented Dance Program, Isabelle and Maddy Calder from Gdance Academy, Sara Forster from Aria Dance Academy, QUT student Mara Glass, Caitlin Nilon from Eden Dance Academy, young magician Matthew Howes, the  Aisy Waisy Trio and ‘Legs’ dancers Emma Gaynor, Jessica Potter, Heidi Birkby and Sophie Highmore.
