“HOME” is a charity providing 24-hour care for people 18 and over who are homeless with a mental illness or on the verge of homelessness.

HOME manager Anne Pratt flicked the switch today, connecting the new solar system to the NSW energy grid.

ActewAGL general manager of retail Ayesha Razzaq says: “By connecting solar, we are providing practical support which will see HOME generate free energy from the sun, resulting in long-term savings which they can invest into other areas.

“ActewAGL is also continuing its financial assistance, covering HOME’s ongoing energy costs in the key areas of the facility – communal dining, kitchen, recreation areas and staff offices.

“There’s a real and pressing need for this type of accommodation and ActewAGL is pleased to support this unique and vital facility, which is changing the lives of residents in the region.”
