UPDATE: Elections ACT have coughed up to cocking up their numbers:

On 19 September 2016 the ACT Electoral Commission announced that over 284,000 were enrolled to vote for the 2016 ACT Legislative Assembly election.

Unfortunately this number incorrectly included 16 and 17 year olds who are provisionally enrolled but who will not be 18 years old on or before polling day, and therefore who will not eligible to vote at the 2016 election.

This announcement corrects yesterday’s announcement.

Over 26,400 more people will be able to vote in this year’s ACT Legislative Assembly election, compared with the electoral roll for the last election in 2012.

“There are 283,162 electors on the roll for this election – an increase of 26,460 on the 256,702 who were enrolled for the last election in 2012,” the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Mr Phillip Green, said today.

“In 2016, 145,145 females, 137,992 males and 25 electors with unspecified gender will be eligible to vote,” Mr Green said.
