‘Coward punch’ knocks man unconscious in Civic

A MAN was knocked unconscious at the London Circuit taxi rank in Civic early on Saturday morning (November 26) in what police are describing as a “coward punch” assault.

policeThe man was waiting at the taxi rank near Cube nightclub at about 3am when he was approached by three men. One of them, who was behind the victim, felled him with a punch to the side of the face. The offender immediately ran away.

The victim was treated by an ambulance crew before being taken to the Canberra Hospital for emergency surgery.

Police are looking for witnesses or information. Call 1800 333000. Information can be provided anonymously.
