Free off-peak buses for seniors if Labor is returned

ANDREW Barr says older Canberrans will be able to travel free on off peak buses under a trial to be introduced by re-elected ACT Labor Government.

“Starting next year, the 12-month trial will let concession card and seniors card holders travel free on buses between 10am and 4pm on weekdays,” Andrew said.

“This scheme will give better access to public transport to the Canberrans who need it most and make it easier for them get around town during the day.

“ACT Labor is committed to improving our public transport system so it becomes more convenient, efficient, affordable and reliable – a genuine alternative to driving. That’s why we established Transport Canberra to integrate public transport, ensuring a single ticketing system, a central contact for information and coordinated timetabling. And it’s why we’ve introduced new services like this free travel and the free City Loop.”
