ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Glebe Park, Civic last night (Wednesday, 12 October).

Around 9.05pm, a man walking through Glebe Park from Akuna Street was approached by five male youths. The five males assaulted the man, forcibly removing his backpack and headphones.

The males followed the victim towards Coranderrk Street, continuing to assault him. The offenders then fled on foot in the direction of the Canberra Casino with some of the man’s belongings.

The victim sustained injuries to his head and face.

The males are described as between 17 and 20 years of age, with Australian accents. Four of the males are described as Caucasian in appearance, and one as African in appearance.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen a group of youths in Civic last night matching this description, or has any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Please quote reference number 6022641. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
