Hume Highway traffic routing through Canberra

screenshot

ROADS ACT wishes to advise motorists and other road users to expect an increase in traffic on the Federal and Barton highways today, Friday 22 July 2016, as a result of diverted traffic from the Hume Highway.

Due to a truck rollover on the Hume Highway, all traffic coming from the direction of Sydney toward Melbourne are being diverted via Canberra.

This detour means there will be additional traffic on the Federal and Barton highways, in particular an increase in large vehicles such as semi trailers. Motorists and other road users are asked to take extra care when driving on these roads today.

For up-to-date information on road closures please call Access Canberra on 13 22 81. For more information on road closures please visit tccs.act.gov.au
