Video / Knife thief makes an unregistered trail bike getaway

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the SPAR Express Supermarket in Bonython yesterday (Saturday, 14 May).

About 5.30pm, a man entered the Supermarket and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding cash.

The staff member complied, handing over a sum of cash before the offender exited the store and fled with a second person on an un-registerable trail motor bike.

The man is described as about 180cm (5’11”) tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark coloured track pants, a dark coloured jumper and a backpack. The offender had a black and white motorbike helmet, with ski mask (balaclava) covering his face.

Police are urging anyone who saw a trail bike with two persons aboard between 5.15pm and 6.15pm on Saturday 14 May 2016 in the Tuggeranong area, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Please quote reference number 5960709 Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
