Labor promise to slash rego for the grey nomads

ANDREW Barr says a re-elected ACT Labor government will reduce registration fees for caravans and trailers.

“We will align the ACT with registration fees in NSW,” Andrew said.

“These new measures will not only simplify how registrations work by harmonising with our larger neighbour, they will also save caravan owners a significant amount across all caravan and trailer weight classes.

“It currently costs $1280 a year to register a caravan with a tare weight of 2505 – 2795 kilos in the ACT. With reduced registration fees this would drop to $640 per annum.

“Caravans are popular with grey nomads and families as they provide safety, comfort and flexibility while travelling.”
