Police hunting escaped detainee Ned Barker

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate 26-year-old man Ned Barker who fled ACT Corrective Services’ custody while at The Canberra Hospital today (April 12).

Mr Barker was last seen at 2.15pm today at The Canberra Hospital where he was receiving medical treatment while in ACT Corrective Services’ custody for charges relating to theft, damage of property and assault.

Mr Barker is described as being approximately 172cm tall (5’ 8”), medium build, short brown hair with a tanned complexion wearing a grey top, black shorts and thongs.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Mr Barker or has information that could assist the search, to contact ACT Policing Operations immediately on 131 444.

Police advise the public to call police if they know Mr Barker’s whereabouts rather than approach him.

Police remind people they should not report crime or information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
