Police nab alleged car breakin merchant

AN 18-year-old O’Connor man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday, 20 July) for possession of stolen property.

About 1.45am this morning, police were patrolling in Page in response to a report of a man entering vehicles along Earle Place.

Police conducted a search of the area, and located a man matching the description provided to police. Police identified themselves and directed the man to stop. Police will allege the man became aggressive and ran at police, striking one of the officers.

The man was arrested and found in possession of items belonging to other individuals, including bank cards. All items were seized by police.

The man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House, and will face court charged with two counts of unlawful possession of stolen property, obstruct/resist territory public official, common assault and possess drug of dependence.

Investigations are continuing.
