Police want witnesses to fights at PJ’s Tuggeranong

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a disturbance that occurred at PJ O’Reilly’s in Greenway on Saturday (8 October).

Around 11.30pm, police attended PJ O’Reilly’s following reports of a heavily intoxicated female at the location. The woman was subsequently taken into custody for being intoxicated and disorderly in a public place.

A short time later police returned to PJ O’Reilly’s and whilst talking to staff at the location an intoxicated male became aggressive towards police while trying to gain entry into the premises. He was also taken into custody for being intoxicated and disorderly.

Following this incident a disturbance began between patrons outside the bar resulting in a number of other males being taken into custody for various offences including assault territory official, common assault, hindering police, property damage and intoxicated and disorderly behaviour. One male was charged with drug trafficking.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference number 6021253. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime via Twitter or Facebook pages.
