Small fire at Kingston shops

ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) responded to an Emergency Triple Zero (000) call just after 1:27pm attending to a small electrical fire at a gymnasium at the Kingston Shops on Kennedy Street, Kingston.

Occupants self evacuated as a precaution and ACTF&R found the issue to be with a melted electrical component in the air conditioning system.

Staff and customers are now permitted to return inside the building.

Three fire pumpers, Bronto aerial platform, breathing apparatus unit and two Commanders responded to the incident.
