Southside farmers markets on the move

AFTER 10 years the Southside Farmers Market is relocating from the CIT’s Phillip campus with their 55 stallholders and farmers.

In collaboration with the ACT Education Directorate and Canberra College, the market now has a secure long term venue to operate from.

From July 24, Southside Farmers Market will be open at Canberra College, corner of Launceston Street and Yamba Drive Phillip. The Market will be open every Sunday at Canberra College from 8 to 11.30am.

“While it is sad to say goodbye to the CIT Campus we are excited about the new opportunities and facilities that will be available at Canberra College.” said Michelle van Wijk, Market Organisor.

“The new venue will continue to provide a friendly village atmosphere with most stalls located together in a protected courtyard and adjacent areas including a car park for our larger stalls. There is a large undercover area as well as outside seating for customers to enjoy the atmosphere and hot food and locally roasted coffee. With the venue on one flat level the market offers improved access for wheelchairs and prams as well as access to disabled toilets.”
