Man arrested for allegedly starting Belconnen house fire

A 61-year-old man has been arrested following a house fire in Belconnen yesterday (January 6). 

The man was arrested and charged with one count of arson and one count of endangering life by throwing a inflammable substance.

He was investigated after police attended a unit in Belconnen yesterday where the residence was well alight, resulting in the hospitalisation of one female occupant.

The blaze was extinguished by ACT Fire and Rescue

The Belconnen man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning where police will oppose bail.
