Bearded man approaches primary students

TWO students at a primary school in the Belconnen area were approached, near the school fence, by a man this morning (August 17).

The man, who is described as having a dark complexion and a black beard, approached the students at about 11am.

He was wearing a black unzipped hooded jumper, a black shirt with writing on the front, dark tracksuit pants, a black beanie and a square, silver and gold watch.

Police are seeking witnesses and any dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time of the incident around 10.30am and are particularly interested in speaking to three people who were walking in the area at the time.

In light of this, police are also encouraging parents and guardians to teach their children good personal safety practices such as stranger safety, and to contact police immediately if they become aware of similar incidents.

Information that could assist police to 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number 6298697.
