Berry makes a ‘mess’ of public education

POOR planning by the Labor-Greens government has left Canberra’s public education system in a mess, with some schools under capacity and other “bursting at the seams”, according to shadow Minister for Education Elizabeth Lee.

Ms Lee says that Education Minister Yvette Berry tries to pin her actions to “equality” but that’s not evident with some public schools under capacity and others bursting at the seams.

“Some schools are struggling to fill seats [and] we all know that under capacity schools face greater resourcing challenges when it comes to providing the best education for our children,” she says.

“Clearly, there has been very little forward planning in the Labor-Greens government’s considerations of our schools.”
