A 42-year-old Harrison man has been charged with high-range drink-driving for the sixth time, after he was pulled over by police just after midnight on Sunday morning (March 25).
Police say the car was stopped for suspected speeding offences and the diver requested to produce his licence.
The driver refused and was arrested and subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result. He was taken to Gungahlin Police Station where he underwent further analysis, returning a result of 0.255, which is more than five times the legal limit for a full licence holder.
Police revealed this was the sixth time this man had been caught for high-range drink-driving and he was driving on a probationary license, with an interlock condition, requiring a zero alcohol limit.
The man’s licence was suspended for 90 days, effective immediately. He will be summonsed to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date charged with high-range drink-driving and not complying with his licence conditions.
