Queanbeyan robber holds syringe to owner’s throat

POLICE are searching for a man after he held a syringe to the throat of a store owner on Waniassa Street, Queanbeyan, on Wednesday, March 14.

The man entered the store at about 1.50pm and was followed in by the 55-year-old owner who had been outside talking to an acquaintance.

The owner asked the man if required assistance and after declining, the man suddenly grabbed the owner from behind, and allegedly held a syringe to his throat.

He then threatened the owner and then grabbed cash from the register before fleeing the store towards the tennis courts off Waniassa Road.

The man was described to police as being 25-30 years of age, thin build and 178cm tall.

He had fair, short hair and was wearing a black cap, grey t-shirt and black pants.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to Cody Coppock’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/
