Spinal cord injury rehab now in Canberra

A SPINAL cord injuries program has been launched in Canberra today (February 28), which means locals no longer have to travel to Sydney for rehabilitation, according to Minister for Community Services and Social Inclusion Rachel Stephen-Smith.

The Spinal Cord Injuries Australia’s NeuroMoves program, which is located at Flynn Community Hub, will assist Canberrans and people from the wider region with conditions such as spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease and cerebral palsy.

The ACT government’s invested $300,000 for the specialist gym, which uses equipment and a range of therapeutic exercises to help people achieve their individual goals for mobility, strength and fitness.
