TUGGERANONG Arts Centre is transforming Fridays with the “hottest, newest (and only) comedy room in Tuggeranong – Club Sandwich Comedy,” starting tonight (Friday, February 15).
The headliner will be comedian Tom Gibson, one of Canberra’s favourite comedians, with spots from RAW Comedy National Finalist Tim Noon, ACT RAW comedy Finalist Frances McNair and Deadly Funny National Finalist Benny Eggmolesse.
MC Chris Ryan, who with Gibson will be performing their show “Unqualified” at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, praises the high calibre of Canberra locals to choose from, saying: “The comedy will have a national standard to it, with a taste of local insight… People love hearing jokes about their hometown.
“I daresay there will be some local observations, possibly quite a few Tuggeranong ones, too.
“Sometimes that’s some of the best bits of a comedy night – when someone in the audience chimes in with what they think is a zinger and it’s not, or especially if it is – it’s all part of the comedy.”
