Driver wanted after police forced to stop pursuit

POLICE are searching for the driver of a red Holden Commodore after they were forced to stop pursuing it for safety reasons on the outskirts of Bungendore this morning (May 22).

NSW police saw the Holden Commodore, which matched the description of a vehicle involved in a fraud matter at a Bateman’s Bay service station, at about 8.30am on the Kings Highway, near Braidwood.

Officers signalled for the vehicle’s driver to stop. When the driver did not stop, a pursuit began.

As the cars reached the outskirts of Bungendore, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

A description of the car was broadcast to ACT police and surrounding local areas.

The red Commodore sedan, which does not have its front bumper, was later located in the ACT.

Police from Monaro Police District and Southern Region Highway Patrol are continuing their inquiries to locate the driver.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au
