Drugged driver rams into police car

A MAN, who was driving under the influence of drugs, rammed into a police vehicle yesterday (May 14) afternoon. 

It’s alleged the driver ran a red light and collided with three other vehicles at the intersection of Ginninderra Drive and Aikman Drive at about 4.15pm before he was chased by police.

Police suspect the man was driving a stolen vehicle when it rammed into one of their vehicles yesterday. The man returned a positive reading in a roadside drug test and was taken into custody.

At this stage there are no reports of injuries in the collision.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number P1746965.
