Large Belconnen building site shut down

A LARGE Belconnen building site has been shut down by Access Canberra this afternoon (July 11) after the site’s building work was allegedly inconsistent with the development and building approvals.

ACT construction occupations registrar Ben Green says the site was issued a stop work notice, which means building work will be prohibited while the notice is in place.

But, he says building work can occur to bring the building back into compliance with the building approval.

“We will continue to investigate this matter and work with the parties involved to ensure a timely resolution,” he says.

“This is yet another reminder that we will take action where it is identified that building work has occurred without the required approvals in place.”
