Promisers plastered on plastic signs

CORFLUTE-sign time is with us again with every party pledging to do something about the environment and climate change.

Cedric Bryant.

And yet every party has no hesitation in using corflute plastic signs to try and influence the voter.

To the best of my knowledge, this product is not recyclable.

One person said they will reuse them, which is of course a nonsense as it is almost certain that the same candidates will not be seeking election again in four years.

I realise that many sporting clubs and other organisations use them to promote events and do reuse them.

Unfortunately, too much information is included and it is almost impossible to read the signs unless travelling at a walking pace.  However, at this time there are hundreds out across the ACT as visual pollution of the environment.

I would be interested in what really happens to these signs after the election other than clogging up the tip. Mind you, if it was tomato-planting time many dozens would disappear for the wooden stakes alone!
