THE construction of another supermarket for Dickson will begin in the six months, according to Planning Minister Mick Gentleman.

Once its begun, Mr Gentleman says the construction will take about two years to complete.

According to Mr Gentleman, the ACT government “called in” this new development, which will be headed by Coles Property Group, after years of community consultation.

“Many local residents have been calling for a new supermarket in Dickson Centre to cater for a growing population,” Mr Gentleman says.

“More than 655 permanent car parks will also be created at the centre, as well as improved footpaths and landscaping.”
