PLAYGROUNDS in Hughes, Isaacs, Monash and Macquarie are to have shade sails installed as part of a refresh of 19 play spaces across Canberra.

The upgrades include repainting of equipment, repairs of seating, deck and fences, and replacing soft-fall mulch.

“The upgrades and refreshes will make Canberra playgrounds more attractive, comfortable and safe for children and their parents and carers,” says Community Services and Facilities Minister Chris Steel.

Additionally, he says, adding shade sails is a priority so playgrounds can be enjoyed by children and their carers during the summer months.
