Subaru escapes police in Ainslie chase

A SUBARU driver escaped police on Tuesday (June 11) after driving through a red light and continuing on the wrong side of the road in Ainslie.

Police suspected the white Subaru Liberty, which has ACT vehicle registration, was a stolen vehicle when they saw it at about 5pm on the Tuesday.

After activating their lights and directing the vehicle to stop, the driver allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection of Limestone Avenue and Ainslie Avenue, before continuing southwest down Limestone Avenue on the wrong side of the road.

Anyone who may have any information that could assist police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number 6405622.
