TRASHFEST 2019 is a wild film event culled from Andrew Leavold’s 30 years of collecting and sharing film oddities. It’s suitable for anyone into horror, cult movies or strangeness. THE Waterside Workers Federation had a film unit during the Cold War. To complement CMAG’s new, “Activism – forces for change in Canberra”, the Friends of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia will show two of its productions, “Indonesia Calling” and “The Hungry Miles”. Beer as an art film subject

PHOTOACCESS and Bentspoke Brewing Co have joined forces to produce “Micro-Brewed Micro-Films”, a project that gives eight film-makers the opportunity to spend three consecutive Sunday mornings learning how to script, shoot, edit and record sound for a three-minute Super8 film. The workshop runs on three consecutive Sunday mornings, 10am-1pm, July 21 and 28 and August 4. Details on enrolling at photoaccess.org.au
