AN enterprise bargaining agreement between ACT Fire & Rescue and the United Firefighters Union (UFU) will see 99 new firefighters join a “modernised” ACT Fire and Rescue over the next four years.
ACT Emergency Services Agency commissioner Georgeina Whelan says the new enterprise agreement is the result of a thorough and constructive bargaining process between the ACT Emergency Services Agency and the UFU.
“We’re proud to have collaboratively worked with the UFU to reach an agreement that is focused on continuing to strengthen safety for our firefighters and the ACT community,” commissioner Whelan says.
“The new enterprise agreement is focused on building a modernised fire service, meeting the needs of firefighters, including investment in health, wellbeing and safety initiatives, revitalised allowance, skills and training incentives and staffing arrangements during the bushfire season.”
The new ACT Fire & Rescue enterprise agreement will expire in 2024.
