MUSICIANS from the CSO and the newly established ANU Orchestra will be performing reflective music by Australian composer Graeme Koehne as an extension of the Side by Side Orchestra initiative. The “bite size” performance will be shared today, Friday, July 17, here.

BEATA Tworek’s “Self Iso Portraits 2020” is a new exhibition of five large-scale self-portraits made to correspond to the COVID-19 times through its subject and its format. The photographs reflect the time when the artist had the opportunity to think about her origins, identity, everyday rituals and times gone by. AINSLIE and Gorman Arts Centres will move to step three of the “COVIDSafe” plan on Monday, July 20, to coincide with the start of term three. The re-opening of Ainslie Arts Centre, and the return of public events with headcount limits and social distancing (one person per 4sq m indoors, 1.5m apart, and 100 persons outdoors), are the main changes expected at this stage.

BUNGENDORE Wood Works Gallery is chuffed to learn that Anton Gerner, a long term gallery artist, has had two significant cabinets acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria. “Huon Pine Sculptural Drawers” and “A Cabinet With No Front Or Back” have been added to the permanent Contemporary Design and Architecture collection.
