SEVERE thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rainfall and hail are predicted cause havoc in the ACT this afternoon (February 18), according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
BOM reports that a gusty thunderstorm, which could potentially become severe, will come through in the afternoon or evening.
In light of BOM’s predictions, ACT Emergency Services Agency is urging Canberrans to take steps now to keep property safe.
ACTESA says people can put measures in place such as moving vehicles undercover, not under trees, securing loose items around the home, and avoiding flooded areas.
