THE Bureau of Meteorology issued a Fire Weather Warning for the ACT at 11am (January 23) as winds howl, the temperature rises and dust beleaguers the city.
The bureau warning says the “very hot, dry and windy conditions will bring elevated fire dangers” and says that there is “extreme fire danger” for the rest of the day.
In an earlier severe weather warning, the bureau warns of damaging winds averaging 60-70km/h for the ACT.
