Burst pipe will see Civic streets closed for six hours

A BURST water pipe has forced emergency services to close lanes on Barry Drive and Marcus Clarke Street.

Due to water on the road, both west bound lanes of Barry Drive and both south bound lanes of Marcus Clarke Street are closed, and Icon Water predicts will be closed for about six hours.

“Repairs to the burst main are underway and are expected to take around six hours however due to the extent of road damage caused by the burst, those repairs will take additional time,” reported an Icon Water spokesperson.

The community is advised to avoid the area.

Icon Water apologised for the disruption and said they’re unable to predict faults such as burst water mains.
