OUT of the five coronavirus cases confirmed over the past few weeks, only one remains active in the ACT.

There have been no new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, leaving the ACT’s total at 113. One-hundred and nine cases have recovered and three people have died from the virus in Canberra.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now 45,294.

With more than 150 people now in self-quarantine in Canberra after attending the Soldiers Club, ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman is again calling anyone who attended the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club on Monday, July 13, and Wednesday, July 15, through to Friday, July 17, is legally required to self-quarantine immediately for 14 days from the date of their visit.

“Again, if you have been at any of the identified NSW venues included in a Public Health Direction – the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, Crossroads Hotel in Casula, Planet Fitness in Casula or Picton Hotel in Picton – you must self-quarantine for 14 days and let ACT Health know you are in quarantine,” Dr Coleman said.

Dr Coleman is also urging Canberrans to stay home if they’re unwell.

“We are now in the midst of winter, with more people likely to come down with a cold. You may think it’s just a cold, but you should stay home if you are unwell. Don’t be a hero. Don’t go to work or to the shops. Go and get tested,” she said.

“We also expect all workplaces to encourage their employees to stay home if they are unwell.”
