PAIN from musculoskeletal problems can be significantly improved or eliminated by a combination of surgical or non-surgical means, says Orthopaedics ACT executive director Dr Phil Aubin.
“Advances in surgery have led to significant improvement in people with pain and mobility issues,” says Dr Aubin, who is urging people suffering with arthritis and musculoskeletal pain to seek help and discuss their pain with the GP.
Orthopaedics ACT, located in Woden, is the largest single practice in the region, according to Dr Aubin, and offers surgical or non-surgical intervention as well as sport and exercise medicine.
Their team of sub-specialist trained surgeons offer care for issues relating to the spine, upper extremities, lower extremities and pelvis, says Dr Aubin.
“We cover the whole musculoskeletal system, head to toe and we also have a sport and exercise physician on staff offering consultations,” he says.
“We now also offer paediatric orthopaedic services under Prof David Little and Dr Samya Lakis.”
Dr Aubin says patients and their referring GPs can expect a professional approach from reception right through.
“We always take input from our patients to achieve a positive outcome,” he says.
