Driver dies in Yass after failing to stop for police

A DRIVER who failed to stop for police in Yass last night (March 22) was found dead a short distance away after he left the road and crashed into a tree. 

Police attempted to stop the man on Laidlaw Street at about 11.45pm but after activating their lights, he failed to stop the vehicle.

An investigation into the man’s death has since been launched. It is subject to an independent review.

No further details are available at this time; however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
