Evatt man charged with possession of child-abuse material

A 40-year-old man has been charged with possession of child-abuse material following a police raid on his Evatt home yesterday (February 28).

ACT Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team investigators began inquiries into the man’s online activities after receiving a referral last month.

During the home search investigators seized a laptop computer, which will be alleged contained child-exploitation material.

The man was charged with using a carriage service to make child-abuse material available and possessing child-abuse material.

Anyone with information about people involved in the possession or sharing of child exploitation material is urged to call 1800 333000. You can also make a report online by alerting the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation via the Report Abuse button at accce.gov.au/report.
