Fire ban, heat, smoke and ‘severe’ rating

Smoke haze to continue.

THE ACT faces a total fire ban day of high temperatures and a “severe” fire rating tomorrow (January 10).

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting hot, dry and windy conditions with temperatures predicted to reach 40C in Canberra.

A smoke haze will remain in the region.

The forecast Fire Danger Rating (FDR) is predicted to be “severe”, which  means if a fire starts it may be uncontrollable and move quickly.
