The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting hot, dry and windy conditions with temperatures predicted to reach 40C in Canberra.
A smoke haze will remain in the region.
The forecast Fire Danger Rating (FDR) is predicted to be “severe”, which means if a fire starts it may be uncontrollable and move quickly.
