Update: Apartment blaze sends person to hospital

A PERSON has been taken to hospital following an apartment fire in O’Connor this afternoon (November 17).

Firefighters have now extinguished the blaze and have reopened Berrigan Crescent.

Firies were called to the scene after a resident in the complex heard a smoke alarm and called 000.

Following the blaze, the Emergency Services Agency says it’s a good reminder to the community that working smoke alarms save lives.
