LABOR has pledged to spend more than $22 million in local shopping centre precincts across the city, but they’ll take four years to do it.
“This will include upgrades at local shops in Campbell, Narrabundah, Kaleen South, Duffy, Evatt, Macquarie, Monash, Calwell, Lanyon and Cooleman court. Upgrades will range from landscaping, footpath renewal and mobility upgrades, new seating, new bins and improved waste management,” says Labor leader Andrew Barr.
“In addition to this, a re-elected ACT Labor government will also invest $1.2 million to upgrade public bathrooms at local shops in Lyneham and Colbee Court, and construct a new toilet at Florey shops.
“If re-elected, work is expected to commence on Campbell, Kaleen and Duffy with priority as feasibility studies on these sites were completed by ACT Labor in government. The remaining upgrades to be delivered by 2024.
