SPECIALISING in quality second-hand furniture, Ex-Government Furniture owner James Fullerton claims it to be the only store of its kind in Australia.

Based in busy Fyshwick, surrounded by many unique businesses that are run by hard workers, selling quality products, James says it’s the ideal location.

“It’s a great place to be, with new developments and progress within the area,” he says.

While Ex-Government Furniture has many items that are perfect for setting up the home office, including a range of ergonomic desks and chairs, James says they also have pieces that can cross over into general interiors.

Right now, James says they have a range of high-quality designer furniture, including items by international designer Sean Dix, Melbourne-based furniture designer Ross Didier and the brand Schiavello Italian, which creates designer chairs.

“It’s a fortuitous time for anyone who’s looking for unique, high-end pieces, and we’ve also got some solid outdoor timber tables,” he says.

People have to be quick with second-hand office furniture, he says, but they also stock items from Australian company Thinking Works, including height-adjustable workstations and seating solutions.

In the store, James says there’s a bit of a “human corral” set up, where staff take customers through the store to fit with social distancing restrictions.

“It’s about limiting the numbers, but we look at it as a very attentive, personal service,” James says.
