More than 130 Canberrans in quarantine

Batemans Bay Soldiers Club… NSW Health is in the process of contact tracing patrons.

MORE than 130 Canberrans who were in the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club are now in self-quarantine.

ACT Health says that anyone who visited the Soldiers Club on Monday, July 13, Wednesday, July 15 and Friday, July 17 is legally required to self-quarantine immediately for 14 days from the date of their visit. 

Anyone who was not at the club but who has been holidaying in Batemans Bay is asked to get tested if they have any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild.

Other affected areas in New South Wales are the Crossroads Hotel in Casula, between Friday, July 3 to Friday, July 10, Planet Fitness in Casula, between Saturday, July 4 and Friday, July 10, and Picton Hotel in Picton, on Saturday, July 4, Sunday, July 5, Thursday, July 9 or Friday, July 10.

Chief Health Officer Dr Kerryn Coleman says the situation is rapidly evolving but the ACT is in a strong position at the moment. 

“Even for those people who have stayed in the ACT during this holiday period, I remind you to stay vigilant, practice physical distancing and good hygiene practices, and get tested if you have any symptoms,” she says.

There have been no new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the past 24 hours, leaving the ACT’s total at 113. There are three active cases in the ACT.
