No one’s to blame for new cases, says health chief

ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman.
NO one’s to blame for new coronavirus cases, said ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman, who has urged Canberrans to be kind to one another so people continue to get tested.
“We don’t blame anyone for these new cases. The situation in Victoria is evolving very quickly, and people coming to the ACT who may have COVID-19 need our support,” Dr Coleman said this afternoon (July 9) after a fourth person was confirmed with COVID-19 in the past two days.
They are the first confirmed cases in the ACT after about a month of Canberra being virus-free.
“We want to encourage anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested and to know that if you do test positive for COVID-19 we will support you and do everything we can to ensure you get better,” she says.
“We have a number of people in quarantine here in the ACT, which is not easy. If anyone needs support during this time, please call our COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244 or call Lifeline on 13 11 14. We are all in this together, and we must be supportive of one another.”
