A WOMAN in her 20s was caught drink driving twice in the space of two hours early yesterday morning (April 5) in Belconnen.
The 22-year-old p-plater was first stopped by police on Coulter Drive in Belconnen at about 12.35am yesterday. She blew a positive roadside breath test and was taken to the police station where, after further examination, blew a result of 0.148. The legal limit for a probationary driver is 0.00.
Police issued the woman with an immediate suspension notice for a period of 90 days and was released from custody at 1.20am.
About 25 minutes after her release, police saw the woman’s vehicle driving on Southern Cross drive and pulled the car over on Ratcliffe Crescent.
The woman exited the driver side of the vehicle. Police arrested her and did another roadside breath test, which came up with a result of 0.115.
The woman has been charged with two counts of drink driving and driving with a suspension notice in effect.
She will face charges at the ACT Magistrates Court.
