REIACT Residential Salesperson of the Year Maria Selleck is energetic and passionate about Canberra property and believes her reputation for integrity and fair dealing is second to none.

Maria is a self starter and wanted to do things her way. In early 2009 she set out to build an award-winning agency under her own banner with a total focus on customer service and giving her clients value for money.

Before establishing Maria Selleck Properties, Maria had already earned the reputation as being one of Canberra’s leading professional agents for achieving great sales for clients and received multiple achievement awards in the local and national industry.

This year she was awarded the major REIACT 2020 Residential Salesperson of the Year.

“I am honoured to be given this recognition and I want to thank all my wonderful clients that made this award possible,” she says.

“The award represents our ethics of better service, better prices and better outcomes for our loyal customers.

“And to my customers, both selling, leasing and buying, I say: ‘Thank you for your years of support and loyalty’.”

Maria Selleck Properties was also awarded the prestigious Real Estate Institute ACT Small Residential Agency Award of the Year for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016, plus the national REIA title in 2013.

“My personal attributes of integrity, passion, tireless energy and genuine helpfulness have consistently given me the competitive edge,” she says.

“I always pride myself on exceeding my client’s expectations.

“As a big believer in always going the extra mile with every single property, I regularly enhance homes with my own works of art and beautiful furnishings, and commissions minor improvements as required on selected properties.

“The results have been great outcomes and delighted clients.”

In her 18-year-career, she has personally achieved an unsurpassed 65+ record-price sales with 96 per cent of her listings sold at or above the asking price.

A crucial part of Maria’s reputation is built on her extremely high ethical standards – a quality that is cultivated throughout the team at Maria Selleck Properties.

“While getting the best possible result is high on my agenda, so is making sure that each and every client, seller and buyer, is treated with respect and integrity,” she says.

This honest, straightforward and insightful approach is seen by clients as a breath of fresh air that, she says, explains the inordinately high amount of repeat business and referrals.

“When I’m asked what is it that’s made my agency so successful, I am adamant about one thing: real estate is not about houses, it is about people, service, respect and relationships,” she says.

You always have to go the extra mile for your clients. It goes with the job. You cannot be a buyers agent if you do not do this. you need to understand what he/she wishes and then deliver.
